ENGLAND : 3.17 - highest rate found in London and West Midlands
SCOTLAND : 9.09 - highest rate found in Borders, Fife, Ayrshire & Arran and in Greater Glasgow & Clyde
WALES : 7.68
NORTHERN IRELAND : 7.32

I'm in the Borders and we only had 3 deaths, 2 of those were a mother & baby..?

over all there is the mystery why flu declined so much so suddenly
in England and Wales since 2000.
It seems to continue this year, although England was hit early.

Unfortunately England does not share sequences with us,
sequences which might help to resolve that mystery
and let us all participate in their luck.

It's the number of deaths in relation to your relatively small population. Your apparent place at the top of the charts is probably just a statistical fluke based on a relatively small population and that two of the cases were linked anyway (mother and baby as you say).

Scotland as a whole is now on top of Europe's 'chart', and if we don't include regions with population below 1 million, Greater Glasgow & Clyde is seen in the lead among regions
