Im wondering if this is related to what was reported as bird flu h5n1 yesterday as it mentions the same city. it speaks of two deaths last week and another two today from h1n1

with two others in critical condition which equals six in total

the two critical cases are suspected of infection with (bird flu) based on this article in arabic.

Twall, Doesn't this mean that these 2 were suspected of H1N1 but died before any tests were done, i.e. no throat swabs?

yes it reads like the two were not tested at all, it also reads like it could be eight people. which is what i suspect.

also this thread indicates four others were being held in isolation last week,but again the names and ages aren't the same and it struck me as odd then when i posted it, as they quarantined the four young people for suspected H1N1 infection which is not the norm here when treating mild H1N1 cases

Post number four does state they 'suspected bird flu' i guess this was driven and due to the totality, severity and nature of the displayed symptoms coupled with the close proximity to the recent culling efforts.

but that being the case antivirals should have been automatic based on published sop for suspected h5n1 infection.
