اتهم تقرير رسمي حديث شركة ?أبوزعبل للأسمدة? بالخانكة بالتسبب في قلة خصوبة مساحات شاسعة من الأراضي المجاورة لمصنعها، وانخفاض إنتاج تلك الأراضي، ونفوق عدد من الحيوانات بالعزب المجاورة.
An official report accused the company ?Obozaabl fertilizer? Bakhankp causing the lack of large tracts of fertile land adjacent to the plant, and the decline in the production of such land, the number of deaths of animals Baezzb neighbors.
وحذر التقرير الصادر عن وزارة الدولة لشئون البيئة من تأثير مصنع الشركة علي المنطقة من جراء الأتربة الكثيفة المتصاعدة منه، مشيراً إلي ارتفاع معدلات تلوث الهواء في منطقة أبوزعبل وزيادة كميات الأتربة والمواد العالقة بالمنطقة علي الحدود المسموح بها.
The report warned of the Ministry of State for Environmental Affairs of the impact of the company's factory in the region due to the dense dust rising from it, pointing to the high levels of air pollution in the area of Obozaabl and increasing the amounts of dust and materials pending the region limits.
كما أكد التقرير ارتفاع معدلات تلوث الهواء في منطقة شبرا الخيمة نتيجة الأنشطة الصناعية المختلفة، ووجود 98 مسبكاً بها.

The report pointed out that more than 120 thousand children under 5 years of Shubra al-infected children, respiratory diseases, varying between ?very serious? and ?Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome? and ?inflammation in the throat?.
وجاء في التقرر أيضاً أن هناك 230 نشاطاً صناعياً دون ترخيص في أبوزعبل، تشكل مصدراً رئيسياً لتلوث المنطقة، حيث تبلغ كمية الوقود المستخدمة سنوياً 500 مليون لتر وقود ما بين المازوت والكيروسين والبنزين، ويؤدي إنتاجها أكاسيد الكربون والكبريت إلي تلوث الهواء والتربة.

من جهته، قال المهندس ماجد جورج وزير الدولة لشئون البيئة إنه تم التنسيق مع شركة ?أبوزعبل للأسمدة? لإيقاف الوحدة ?5? كبريتيك، إثر تلقي الوزارة ومجلس مدينة الخانكة عدداً من الشكاوي بخصوصها، لحين إجراء مراجعة فنية للدوائر الكهربية بها وتأكيد سلامتها، وأوضح أن مندوبي الوزارة بدأوا في أعمال المعاينة والتأكد من توقف الانبعاثات بها، ليتم إخطار الوزارة بالتقرير الفني عن نتائج المراجعة الشاملة.
