Controlling a fire in Al-Qabouti, Port Said


A large fire broke out in one of the poultry farms in the New Qobouti area, south of Port Said Governorate, this evening, which resulted in the death of 100 chicks due to the thick smoke. The cause of the fire was determined to be caused by an electrical short circuit in the farm.

The firefighting and civil protection teams in Port Said were able to control the fire and put it out before it spread to other nearby farms.



Notification of the fire to the Security Directorate

Major General Mazen Sabry, Director of Port Said Security, received a notification from Brigadier General Sherif El Araby, Director of the Civil Protection and Fire Department in Port Said, stating that he had received a communication.

3 cars to extinguish the fire

Immediately, 3 fire engines, under the supervision of Colonel Hani Al-Mahdi, head of the fire brigade in Port Said, went to the scene, and the fire was brought under control.

The firefighters also put out the smoke with chemicals to prevent it from spreading and escalating the fire again and reaching the farms in the area.

Ambulances were also dispatched to the scene of the accident, and the accident did not result in injuries or suffocation. Emergency vehicles, electricity and natural gas were also moved to the scene, and public electricity and natural gas were separated from the area to ensure that the fire does not flare up again.

The preliminary investigations of the Criminal Investigation Department at Port Said Security Directorate showed that the fire broke out due to an electric short circuit in a poultry farm .

The necessary legal measures have been taken, and the Public Prosecution office is completing investigations to find out the circumstances of the accident.
