أعلنت منظمة الصحة العالمية أن منطقة شرق المتوسط خالية من أي إصابة بأنفلونزا الخنازير سواء بين البشر أو الخنازير وحذرت من التهاون في الإجراءات الوقائية أو الإهمال في رصد الفيروس من المنافذ البرية أو الجوية.​
