The latest report of the Central Administration of Preventive Medicine of the General Authority for Veterinary Services, Ministry of Agriculture revealed, on the current situation of the new strain of the H5N8 virus of bird flu, confirmed the emergence of three spots from the new virus in Damietta and the lake and the East.
The report pointed out that the virus is transmitted by wild birds and wind-Muhajir, is recording the appearance of spots for the first time in Egypt.
This comes after the emergence of the new virus in most European countries and Israel, where the new virus is considered one of the most virulent case of transmission of infections to poultry farms in areas that are exposed to the passage of migratory birds viruses, especially in the north of the Delta.

Port Said Mohamed Farag A source Department of Veterinary Medicine in Port Said, had been found dead migratory birds on the coast of the province of Damietta carrying bird flu virus new H5 N8 " " which is the most virulent of the avian influenza known as N1 " H5 ".

The source said the "seventh day", that the tests that has been through the sampling of dead birds and analyzed central labs results were positive.

The source added that the veterinary committees and the environment in Damietta carried out the comprehensive survey to confirm the presence of the virus in terms of whether or not the tests and preventive rebounds Committees confirmed the absence of poultry and birds from Damietta virus H5N8 .

As the source confirmed that the Directorate of Veterinary Medicine and Preventive Medicine and the Committee for Environmental Affairs in Port Said have declared a state of alert through an awareness campaign for poultry farmers and bird cottage areas of sea cow and Aldeph, advocacy and Jerabah to contain the potential risk of transmission of the new virus in order to preserve poultry.

Dr. Ehab Shoukry, Director General of the Directorate of Veterinary Medicine in Damietta, said the Directorate lifted the state of emergency and through to inspect the traps birds coasts of the province to withdraw samples from birds that are likely to be infected with bird flu campaigns .H5 N8

Shukri said the "seventh day" today, Wednesday, that there is a comprehensive survey of fisheries wild migratory birds, stressing that most fisheries are located area of Triangle Lake Manzala and private villages Alrtmh Sheikh Dergham and even the village of Shata and the areas between the governorates of Damietta and Port Said .

Shukri explained that the directorate in constant contact with representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and FAO to follow up the crisis, he said , adding: "We are currently in the work of a comprehensive survey of the shops and houses, which are bred and sell the birds to make sure the virus is present or not," as confirmed tests rebounds preventive committees devoid of poultry Damietta and birds of the virus H5N8 .

Shoukry stressed that the Directorate has taken the necessary measures to curb the spread of the new flu virus H5N8 , in cooperation with the General Authority for Veterinary Services and the Department of Alobadmeulojy and Department of Poultry and management guidance and team Alkaho diseases .
