وقال الفخراني للصحفيين عقب اجتماعه بأعضاء اللجنة العليا لمكافحة مرض انفلونزا الطيور بالإقليم مساء الاربعاء بالقاعة الرئيسية لديوان عام المحافظة إن الأجهزة التنفيذية بالمحافظة بالتعاون مع المديريات والهيئات المعنية ورجال مباحث التموين، ستقوم بحملات مكثفة خلال الأيام المقبلة لتفعيل هذا القرار لمنع انتشار مرض أنفلونزا الطيور .

وتابع محافظ الإسماعيلية أن تغليظ العقوبات علي المجالين ضرورة ملحة لتفعيل القرارات الخاصة بحظر ومنع تداول ونقل الطيور الحية بجميع أنواعها من والي المحافظة وتشديد الرقابة علي جميع المنافذ ومداخل ومخارج المحافظة وبخاصة الحدود الغربية للإسماعيلية .

وأشار الي تشديد الرقابة علي جميع منافذ البيع والأسواق، ومراجعة محلات بيع الطيور التي صدر لها قرار غلق والتأكيد علي عدم السماح بتربية الطيور فوق أسطح المنازل وإزالة جميع العشش وعودة محال تجارة الطيور الحية وعدم السماح بالذبح خارج المجازر الخاصة بالمحافظة وتحت أشراف الرقابة البيطرية والصحية .

ونسبت وكالة أنباء الشرق الاوسط المصرية الى عبد الرحمن شاهين المستشار الاعلامي المتحدث الرسمي لوزارة الصحة قوله ان هدية صلاح رجب (25 عاما) توفيت "إثر فشل في التنفس" نتيجة الإصابة بأنفلونزا الطيور ، وهذه هي حالة الوفاة رقم 25 بالمرض في مصر وهي حالة الوفاة الثانية فى 2009.

وكانت الوزارة قد أعلنت يوم الثلاثاء حالة الوفاة الأولى فى 2009 وهي لطفل عمره 6 أعوام .
