Al-Rashid Mohamed Rashid, Minister of Trade and Industry in the formation of a committee to study the reduction of tariff assessed on imported poultry.

Rashid said: The government is keen to support the poultry sector in Egypt until the crisis beyond its current, and most importantly in relation to the ministry is to take the necessary action to halt the rise in poultry prices and availability at affordable prices to the consumer and increase the competitiveness of the poultry sector to get the best price for the consumer.

He explained that this action is in the light of data provided by the various organs of the ministry, on the market and poultry industry in Egypt, on the coordination with the engineer, who was Amin Abaza, Minister of Agriculture.

For his part, "said Yasser Bayoumi, a member of the Union of Poultry Producers: There was a discussion with the Ministry of the claim not to reduce customs duties on imported poultry to the threat this poses to the domestic industry, which already is suffering from bird flu.
