I'm posting this because over the last couple of weeks the subject of other animals being butchered and sold as consumable meat has been circulating Thur the general populace.
this article indicates it clearly was animals which were used to feed other zoo animals. I wonder if they were tested for any possible disease prior to using them as feed for the other animals. which the children tend to have very close contact with when visiting the zoos here.

أكد الدكتور محمود علوى فرج مدير مديرية الطب البيطرى بالإسكندرية، أن رؤوس وأحشاء الحمير التى تم العثور عليها جوار استاد برج العرب نتيجة لذبح الحيوانات بحديقة الحيوان.
