نفى الدكتور جمال عثمان مصطفى مدير عام الطب البيطرى بأسوان وجود حالات إصابة فى الثروة الحيوانية بأسوان بأمراض حمى الوادى المتصدع أو الحمى القلاعية أو الجلد العقدى. أضاف مدير الطب البيطرى بأسوان أن أسعار اللحوم ستشهد تراجعا كبيرا ومن المتوقع أن يصل كيلو اللحمة الحمراء إلى 27 ج، وذلك بسبب الإجراءات التى اتخذتها المحافظة ومديرية الطب البيطرى بأسوان والتى تعمل فى ثلاث محاور: الأول وهو الإجراء القوى بالسماح باستيراد اللحوم المجمدة والحية حيث تعاقدت شركتين على استيراد عجول حيه من السودان وتم إنشاء مجزرين بأبو سمبل، والمحور الثانى وهو مراقبة الأسواق وتحرير محاضر للمخالفين من خلال 5 حملات يوميه بمدينة أسوان فقط وحمله يومية فى كل إدارة بيطرية بالإضافة لثلاث حملات مكبرة لأماكن مجهولة تحت إشراف السكرتير عام لمحافظة أسوان يشارك فيها التموين ومباحث التموبن، كذلك هناك محور ثالث: هو قرار محافظ أسوان بتجريم خروج اللحوم خارج المحافظة ومصادرة أى سيارة مخالفة.
