أعلن الدكتور عبد الرحمن شاهين المتحدث الرسمى باسم وزارة الصحة أن عدد حالات الوفاة بفيروس انفلونزا الخنازير هذا الأسبوع وصل إلى 24 حالة وبذلك يكون إجمالى الوفيات منذ أكتوبر الماضى حتى الآن 78 حالة. Dr. Abdel Rahman Shahin, official spokesman of the Ministry of Health, the number of cases of swine flu death this week reached 24 cases, and thus the total death toll since last October so far 78 cases.

وأضاف أن أغلب المتوفين هم من المصابين بأمراض مزمنة والحوامل والذين لقوا حتفهم بسبب مضاعفات المرض. He added that most of the deceased are chronically ill, pregnant women and those who died due to complications of the disease.

وأكد أن جهود فرق رصد نشاط المرض بالوزارة أسفرت عن اكتشاف عدد (838) حالة مؤكدة لمرض الأنفلونزا AH1N1 خلال الأسبوع الماضى فى الفترة من 26/12/2010 حتى السبت الموافق 1 /1 /2011, وأشارت إلى أن معدل انتشار المرض فى حدود المعدلات الطبيعية للأنفلونزا الموسمية حيث بلغ إجمالى الحالات خلال الفترة من أول أكتوبر 2010 حتى الآن (2171). He stressed that the efforts of teams to monitor disease activity in the ministry resulted in the discovery of a number (838) confirmed cases of flu AH1N1 during the last week in the period from 26/12/2010 until Saturday, 01/01/2011, and noted that the rate of spread of the disease within the limits of normal rates for seasonal influenza, with a total cases during the period from early October 2010 until now (2171).

وتفيد النتائج المعملية لرصد مرض الأنفلونزا والمستمر فى أكثر من 450 مستشفى تغطى جميع محافظات الجمهورية أن معدلات الأنفلونزا أقل من معدلات الإصابة فى موسم شتاء 2009 ? 2010 حيث بلغت إعداد الإصابات خلال شهر أكتوبر 2009 إلى يناير 2010 (14846 ) حالة. وتوقعت الوزارة أن تستمر حالات الأنفلونزا حتى نهاية شهر يناير 2011 ثم تبدأ فى الانحسار ونصحت المواطنين فى حالة الشعور بأعراض الأنفلونزا بطلب المشورة الطبية خصوصا للأطفال وكبار السن والسيدات الحوامل ومن لديهم أمراض مزمنة (الصدر والقلب ? أمراض الكلى ? أمراض الكبد ? داء السكرى) وأكدت أن عقار التاميفلو المخصص للعلاج متوفر بالمجان بالمستشفيات ومتاح فى الصيدليات الخاصة. Egypt's Ministry of Health announced on Monday that 24 people died last week from the H1N1 virus (commonly known as swine flu).

A statement by the ministry said that 838 H1N1-positive cases were detected during the last week. The ministry predicted more infections until the end of January, when the breakout is expected to decline...
