The medical team at Hurghada General Hospital succeeded in saving the life of the child "Rakan", and announced his full recovery and his discharge from the hospital in a stable health condition, after a delicate treatment journey and excellent care that lasted for 18 consecutive days.

This success came under the patronage of Dr. Walid Al-Barqi, Governor of the Red Sea, and the guidance of Dr. Ismail Al-Arabi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in the Red Sea, with continuous field follow-up from Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Ghani, Director of Hurghada General Hospital, and with direct supervision from Dr. Bashir Ramadan, Head of the Pediatrics Department.

Details of the urgent medical intervention
The child, Rakan, arrived at the hospital's emergency department in critical condition. Medical examinations showed that the child had severe pneumonia accompanied by a pneumothorax (an accumulation of air in the pleural membrane surrounding the lung), which caused severe and critical breathing difficulties that threatened his life. The child was immediately admitted to the pediatric department, and a multidisciplinary medical team was called in to develop an urgent and comprehensive treatment plan to save him.

The supervising team
combined medical efforts and joint coordination between several vital departments in the hospital, including:
the pediatrics department,
the general surgery department,
and the cardiothoracic surgery department.
Thanks to continuous monitoring and excellent care over 18 days, the child made a full recovery and his vital functions stabilized completely, allowing him to return to his family in good health.

Comprehensive medical services
: This success is a testament to the continuous development and unwavering support enjoyed by the Pediatrics Department at Hurghada General Hospital. The department is distinguished by providing highly specialized medical services, most notably: A
state-of-the-art neonatal intensive care unit (NICU): Equipped with 20 fully equipped incubators featuring the latest medical technology for newborns and critically ill children.
