Re: Egypt Reports 31st Bird Flu Death

I have not updated my chart to include this information because I think this death could be case #104 which would be the 5th death this year and not a new case #105:

#104 - 53 years old, male, onset date February 27, 2010 - Qalyubia governorate

Yes, I have updated my list and added to Case #104. And it is the 5th death this year.

Re: Egypt Reports 31st Bird Flu Death

OK sorry,I worked very late today just getting on-line now.

yes its the fifth fatal case this year based on the collective information.

The ministry of health has released a report for the 6th of march 2010.

it add one new suspect case for the same date with no new positive cases being shown within this report. the suspect case total as of the 6th, March is 11,520.

case number 104 was the only case which was shown as still under going treatment in the previous report within any of the 29 governorates.

it does show under the Cairo governorate, one new fatality being added for the 6th. which raised the total deaths for Cairo to seventeen cases.the total of recovered cases remains at 56 with a total of only four positive cases for this governorate. the total suspect case count for the governorate has been increased by two cases over the last three days. none of which are shown as testing positive.

the report includes the following totals cumulative since 2006.
104 total positive cases
31 fatal
73 recovered

Re: Egypt -Case #104, Male 52/53, 31st Bird Flu Death, H5N1

Farmer's graph in post #24 is interesting. Although the numbers are small, there was a peak in H5N1 infections in Egypt in May, 2009, just about the time that first wave of H1N1 was occurring. Perhaps just a coincidence.
