كانت الضحية قد تم نقلها من مستشفى حميات أسوان إلى مستشفى أسوان التعليمى، وتوفيت فى اليوم التالى من احتجازها بداخل غرفة العناية المركزة. The victim had been transferred from the Fever Hospital Aswan to Aswan Teaching Hospital, and died the next day of her detention within the intensive care unit.
واتهمت أسرة الضحية الأجهزة الصحية ومستشفى حميات أسوان بالإهمال والتقصير فى تشخيص حالتها منذ البداية وتأخر ظهور نتيجة العينة حتى الوفاة والسماح بنقل الضحية من مستشفى الحميات إلى مستشفى أسوان التعليمى، مؤكدة أن مستشفى الحميات هو الذى استقبل الحالة وهو المخصص لعلاج حالات الاشتباه والإصابة والعزل.
