Ecuador lifts siege office chair H1N1 influenza

QUITO (Reuters) - Ecuador had a fence at the epidemiology of the Presidency of the Republic, where the office of president Rafael Correa, after three confirmed cases of infection with influenza H1N1 officials said Thursday the Ministry of Health .
The measure will allow authorities to monitor the evolution of the virus and take preventive actions in the Carondelet Palace, where the president and receive dispatches to several officials and guests, including dozens of tourists visiting the colonial structure.
The security chief of Correa is one of those infected with the new strain of influenza, forcing the authorities to fumigate the afternoon of Wednesday, the facilities and increase the recommendations for avoiding a massive infection.
"All persons who have been close, including the president, have (to play) recommendations. We need a few more days for observation," said Deputy Minister of Health, Marcelo Aguilar, when asked about the measures taken the presidential palace.
In the final hours, the Ministry of Health confirmed in a statement infected two more, including the Minister of Policy, Ricardo Patino, and a soldier of the presidential guard.
The three cases developing well, added the statement, while one of the military presents a picture of pneumonia.
Aguilar acknowledged that the flu virus known as swine flu has spread in the country but still has a low impact pandemic.
On the premises of the chair is increased preventive measures to the delivery of masks to staff and visitors entering the site.
