46-year-old man from Quito is the first case of SARS-CoV-2 reinfection in Ecuador

This Saturday, the Institute of Microbiology of the San Francisco de Quito University notified the first case of reinfection verified in the country of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which causes the coronavirus.

"The genomes of the virus present in an Ecuadorian with COVID-19 have been sequenced in May and again in August, showing that they are two different strains," was part of the text that was issued this Saturday morning.
