11 JANUARY 2010

The behavior of the human influenza virus A (H1N1) in recent weeks, has been in a moderate tone in their presence among the population and only 1.261 cases have been reported positive.

Everything indicates that the response of society to the epidemiological picture, very quickly learned to behave in an appropriate and pro-positive and all preventive measures and suggestions issued by the health authority in the state were served efficiently and this has been largely critical part in the result on the impact on the virus and the damage was minor and below the projection that was thought initially.

This was considered Dr. Patricia Hernandez Gutierrez, Secretary of Health in the state, who to provide figures, referred to from the previous month of April 2009, only the cases reported above are met and unfortunately also the death 5 people who died as a cause attributable to this type of human influenza virus and all that in 21 municipalities in the state.

According to the notifying unit in the Health Services, 643 patients were reported positive, the IMSS 557; ISSSTE 19; Hospital Child 39 and only 3 of private hospitals. Of these, the number of female cases are 626 and 635 of the male but all are recovered in full and there were no cases of infection with living together and frequent contact.

However, this entire episode, include positive situations, because by the social behavior is experience in the use of new vaccines initially applied to groups of minors and vulnerable segments and pregnant women, using an initial batch 6.080 vaccines from sole proprietorships, which was subsequently reinforced with another 7 thousand doses and so on have enough antiviral medication to give to the population, are part of the strengths of the collection was done by the Health Services of Durango .

There is a notice issued by the Ministry of Health, Government of the Republic that by next February, the vaccine will be available to the general population and certainly to this expectation, Durango as before, will respond with efficiency and timeliness in regard to immunization scheme and is awaiting only the ways and times to meet this need in the implementation of preventive medicine.

The health secretary in the state, Patricia Herrera, said that a small percentage of patients remain in monitoring health as part of the fence, also continues to apply indiscriminately the seasonal flu vaccine because the goal for the winter season is to reach to the 135 thousand doses throughout the state, however, shows a willingness to acquire more if necessary.

He added: "Fortunately, it was higher than had been previously predicted for seasonal influenza, there we had up to 40 percent of patient flow in the consultation in health centers and hospitals which according to national policy only monitoring makes 10 percent of patients for epidemiological control.

In regard to the human influenza vaccine, is found the application to groups considered high risk as are people with chronic-degenerative diseases such as diabetes and hypertension, not heretofore authorized sale in the private offices.

The state officer stated: "We had no new reported cases of human influenza, much less deaths so far this year, the only death from the cold that we recorded was a man who had alcohol poisoning and that unfortunately fell asleep in a park, in an area where there was no shelter because their families are not asked for it ".

During this winter season have also decreased significantly pneumonia cases due to mothers who take into account and addressing preventive measures that continually promoted through the media
