Ituri: Two (2) deaths out of the 48 cases of diarrhea recorded at Bunia Central Prison

Bunia, May 15, 2018 (ACP) .- Of the 48 cases of abnormal notification of diarrhea, two (2) deaths have already been recorded since May 5 at the central prison of Bunia, in the province of Ituri, announced Tuesday the chief medical officer of Provincial Health Division (DPS) / Ituri, Dr. Luis Tsulo.
Dr Luis Tsuloa said that at the present stage, we do not yet talk about the epidemic in this penitentiary structure. A team of his division descended on the spot took twelve (12) stool samples brought back to the medical reference laboratory for analysis and confirmation for better medical care.
In the meantime, he said, some of the patients are being treated free of charge at the general reference hospital in Bunia, while others are interned at the prison's hospital center.
Dr. Luis Tsulo advocated for the introduction of preventive measures including hand washing and refueling the prison with drinking water for personal and body hygiene. ACP / Mat / NMJ
