Dominican Republic: 73 Dead Cases of Dengue Fever Reported
Santo Domingo, Oct 6 (Prensa Latina) The Dominican authorities on public health reported Tuesday evening that they confirmed 73 dead people by dengue fever, 20 of them at the Robert Reid Cabral Hospital of the Dominican capital.
The data also show 6,268 possible cases of the disease, while in 2014, in the same period of the year, the number of cases was of 4,585.

On Monday, Health Minister Altagracia Guzman said the effort comes amid an uptick of the mosquito-borne illness. Besides spraying, workers will teach people how to destroy mosquito breeding areas around their communities.
So far this year, there have been 98 deaths and over 8,500 reported cases. That's nearly double the 52 dengue deaths reported during the same period in 2014.
Santo Domingo.- Dozens of children and adolescents with fever symptoms are flocking to the emergency departments of the capital?s main children?s hospitals, as parents fear that they may be suffering from dengue fever.
The deputy director of Robert Reid Cabral Children?s Hospital, Clemente Terrero, said that they had admitted 41 children with probable dengue diagnoses yesterday, including two in intensive care.
