Docs puzzled over enterovirus testing

Hundreds have been hospitalized by a respiratory illness known as enterovirus 68. At least one local doctor thinks there may be cases in North Texas, but little is known about testing for the virus.
..."I had a teenager that came in and had gone to Colorado, and came back with symptoms that were suggestive of the enterovirus 68 that I had seen on TV," said Dr. Cheryl Cowan of Richardson.
That patient prompted a frustrating day as Dr. Cowan tried to find someone who could tell her how to test for enterovirus 68.
"It really took me hours yesterday to try and figure out how to help my patient," she said...
...Dr. Cowan said she called the lab her office uses, the state health department, and the CDC. They all told her they didn't know how to test for enterovirus 68...
