Not much trust with the police in China. Watch how fast this guy bolts from them when they try to hand him a mask.

Update: It seems Chen Qiushi is saying that there is a new rule in place as of yesterday (2/2) in an effort to prevent reporting on the situation in Wuhan:
"Anyone who approaches the infected, you will be quarantined even you are healthy."

Over the past few days I've seen posts of fires house/apartment first in Wuhan. Here's a recent one claiming to be from Wuhan:

Perhaps this is the reason:

note! Use 75% alcohol to disinfect and pay attention to fire prevention
2020-02-03 04:55 Beijing Daily

Source Title: Use of 75% Alcohol for Disinfection Needs Fire Prevention

Recently, the topic "new type of coronavirus is afraid of alcohol intolerance to high temperature" appeared on the hot search, experts pointed out that 75% of alcohol can effectively inactivate the virus. Liu Bingtao, head of the Propaganda Section of Beijing Daxing District Fire Rescue Division, reminded residents that when 75% alcohol is used for disinfection at home, the volatilization of alcohol will increase the flammable gas in the indoor air. As long as there is a small spark in the air, it may cause flash ignition. This is more dangerous than alcohol being ignited!

For fire safety, what are the hidden dangers of alcohol fires? Liu Bingtao said that the alcohol used in daily life at a concentration of 75% (ethanol) can effectively inactivate the virus. With the development of new coronavirus epidemics, residents mostly use medical alcohol for daily disinfection, but high-concentration alcohol is flammable and explosive, and it is easy to cause fire.

"This is because alcohol contains ethanol, and ethanol is a Class A liquid, with a flash point of less than 28 ? C and a lower explosive limit of less than 10%. That is to say, alcohol is flammable, and there is a danger of fire and explosion when exposed to heat or fire," Liu Bingtao reminded When the concentration of alcohol used in the home is higher than 70%, the volatilization of alcohol increases the flammable gas in the indoor air, especially when the alcohol content in the air reaches 19% and the temperature is equal to or higher than 13 ? C. Mars will flash, which is more dangerous than alcohol being ignited.

Therefore, after spraying alcohol to disinfect clothing, furniture, etc., if the smell of alcohol in the house is very strong, do not contact it with open flames at this time, such as cooking with a gas stove, smoking, etc., including the use of some electrical switches. There is also a danger of explosion. , Need to pay great attention.

How to extinguish alcohol once it catches fire? Liu Bingtao said that alcohol burned on his body, and his clothes should be quickly removed, and then the fire on the clothes should be extinguished. If the clothing cannot be taken off, someone needs assistance. Cover the fire area with a wet towel, etc., and extinguish the fire by blocking the air. When using alcohol to ignite items such as furniture, be sure to cover the ignition point with a fire extinguisher in your home or wet items such as wet towels.

Some rather eye opening videos showing the removal of the dead in yellow body bags. I’m becoming less skeptical as there are just so many now.

note the type of vehicle (no markings as I can see) and that there appears to be more already loaded:

[h=1]Wuhan medic: 'Many more infections than official numbers show'[/h]
In Wuhan, patients are being transferred to a new 1,000-bed hospital that officials hope will help to isolate the virus's spread. But one medical technician says they are overwhelmed and cannot handle all the cases.
DW: Do you trust the official numbers of infections and deaths?

Jiesi Luo*: I think there are many more infections and deaths from coronavirus than have been officially reported. When preliminary tests determine that a patient has a lung sickness, the nucleic acid test (NAT), which detects viruses, cannot always be carried out because the waiting list is too long. The patient is therefore not diagnosed.

Furthermore, if someone dies from the lung sickness, and has not taken the NAT test, the fatality is not statistically registered as having been caused by the coronavirus.

What is the current risk of infection in Wuhan?

Patients showing symptoms often have to wait for hours before they receive treatment. They are prescribed medicine and sent hom...:tiphat:https://www.dw.com/en/wuhan-medic-many-more-infections-than-official-numbers-show/a-52252563

As soon as I saw the photo, in the link, above ... I thought of one of the old 1918 pandemic photos (I'm sure many of you did too!) I made a composite:

The contrast between the post 89 video and that of post 90 highlights the gap between the WHO communiques and the reality on the ground.
Obviously the situation in Wuhan is dreadful and not getting any better.
What surprises me is that the authorities are able to find people to try to forcibly quarantine individuals. I'd think the odds of getting infected would soar in the kind of struggle seen on the video.

Yes, if that individual had not been exposed already, quarantine could be a death sentence.

Headline-
"Chinese government 'will spray disinfectant on an entire CITY tonight' in a desperate bid to stop the spread of coronavirus which has killed 362 people
Trucks to drive around spraying sanitiser through streets of Huangshi tonight
Three million residents have been banned from going outside homes after 9pm
Drastic measure comes after it was revealed virus can live on inanimate objects"

But from your video - if that is disinfectant - it isn't getting into the areas people walk that are more likely contaminated. There is obviously a small park in the camera line - and it isn't getting sprayed. There are overwintering mosquitos in the area - but they seem to be on walls in quiet areas rather than down the centre of a main road....

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — A town in China’s Guangdong Province is taking an unusual approach to hunting down people from Hubei, the most affected region in the coronavirus outbreak that continues to roil the whole country and beyond.

Sanjiao, a town in Guangdong's Meizhou City, has recently published a notice asking residents to provide information leading to the whereabouts of “outsiders” from Hubei or locals who have returned from the hardest-hit province, wrote Guangzhou newspaper Southern Metropolis Daily.

Individuals whose claims are verified will be rewarded with 30 surgical masks per person, a bounty that appears to be appealing as such protective gear has become a scarce commodity, with shortages experienced across Asia.

The authorities have received several tip-offs in the three days since the notice was posted. Around 140 people from Hubei have been identified in 17 communities in the town since the establishment of a local epidemic command center, according to the report....snip
