BREAKING: Epicenter of coronavirus outbreak reports 371 new cases and 24 new deaths, raising death toll to 80

https://mobile.twitter.com/BNODesk/status/1221569799559569408

If you scroll to the next tweet down, there is a graph, reportedly from the Wuhan government, showing deaths versus “cured” cases. Deaths are nearly double the cured cases. This is alarming and suggests a high CFR with severe cases. Of course the data do not include mild cases, making it biased toward more serious cases.

From Agenda-Free TV.

"At present, 32,799 close contacts have been traced, 583 people were released from medical observation on the same day, and 30,453 people are currently receiving medical observation"

Interesting voicemail recording from a frightened Chinese citizen saying that one of their students (who has a parent that is working "on this" (I assume the virus or response) had called and told them the information (listed below). There was a case where someone was fine one minute and then dropped to the ground (I assume dead) the next.

The voicemail is in Chinese but as you go through the comments you'll see various translations, all of which are very similar (both manual and machine).

"Well, this is the case, just now a parent of my students is working on this. He called me to remind me that the city would not be closed. Tomorrow, CDC, I'm shaking all over, will release a big news, I don't know what it is, but everyone in Chengdu should not be outside.

Quickly go to the stores, just in the community, don't go to the big supermarket, buy some instant noodles, just stay at home, and don't go out.

Now if you are in Chengdu, go out and buy some food in the community. Don’t go out. It ’s very dangerous and scary. The parent said that there was a case without symptoms in the early stage, and then he fell directly to the ground in two minutes."

Reporter visited medical staff isolated in Wuhan

At about 1:30 and 3:50 you'll see the room and how it has been sealed off.

Not to sound too much like a skeptic, but that looked rehearsed and staged. The hallways are empty, everyone in the video is calmly doing their work, and even the administrative staff is fully suited up. I think this was created by the Chinese government to make everyone think that they are in control and up to speed on the latest medical technology for this situation. I just don't buy it.

What really gave me pause was that the so-called patient looked perfectly healthy, his hair was groomed, and he was stating the party line - don't panic, this will be eliminated soon, etc. My hair never looks that good after I've been sick in bed for a day. Also, the hokey music at the end was a bit much.

CGTN is funded wholly or in part by the Chinese Government - little note from Wikipedia under the video. The foam around the door seems extreme. Is this standard practice anywhere else? I don't think I have ever seen this. Would this not stop the negative air pressure system from working properly?

I've viewed this video, and also another by CGTN that was posted on this thread. And I agree with Kiwibird, these video's seem to be very carefully managed. They look very clean, very professional, and in a way seem subtly managed to convey a very specific image. I'm not entirely sure that I trust them to be accurate. They just look too well 'produced'. In some ways I'm reminded of the scene in Star Wars episode 4, after Han shoots up the prison cell, and he's trying to convince the security guy on the other end of the radio that everything is normal. 'We're fine here, nothing going on. Uh how are you?'

Its about that believable :P
