Discussion- Has anyone seen anything about H5N1 on television?

I am a retired disabled old guy and have a penchant for news and history shows. I have never seen a mention once of birds, seals, foxes, skunks, dolphins, sea lions, or people catching or dying of bird flu. It’s like intentional or something. Not a word. Oh it’s on the internet if you know where to look, but my tv doesn’t show a single chicken farm, bear or eagle dying from it. How can a disease this bad and widespread not even get a casual mention or casual warning about do not touch. One that may become the next pandemic and vaccine companies are “Standing at the ready.” One that has killed more chickens and wildlife in the United States than ever recorded and about to get worse. I would have guessed a mention once in a while. Almost like reverse propaganda isn’t it.
I have 275 channels and don’t see a word of it, how about y’all??

There was some reporting about the human cases in Cambodia:

Cambodia - Female, 11, onset February 16, hospitalized about February 19, died February 22 Death

Cambodia - Male, father of case above, apparently mild case, found with contact tracing

I have seen some local stations report on egg prices and bird flu.

I think there is more air time spent on the banking system problems and whether Meghan and Harry will attend the coronation.

Interesting article for 2005:

Under Bush, a New Age of Prepackaged TV News

By David Barstow and Robin Stein
March 13, 2005

... An examination of government-produced news reports offers a look inside a world where the traditional lines between public relations and journalism have become tangled, where local anchors introduce prepackaged segments with "suggested" lead-ins written by public relations experts. It is a world where government-produced reports disappear into a maze of satellite transmissions, Web portals, syndicated news programs and network feeds, only to emerge cleansed on the other side as "independent" journalism.

It is also a world where all participants benefit.

Local affiliates are spared the expense of digging up original material. Public relations firms secure government contracts worth millions of dollars. The major networks, which help distribute the releases, collect fees from the government agencies that produce segments and the affiliates that show them. The administration, meanwhile, gets out an unfiltered message, delivered in the guise of traditional reporting.

I've never seen anything in the news either. Not even back in 2006, and on, when there was something to report. When I've shared some reports about the Mink Farm, and Sea Lions in Peru, with friends, they are astonished and can't believe it was going on.....but they haven't asked me how it's going with that since I told them a while back....

I wasn't here in 2006. Were as many types of mammals getting ill as currently? It's very sad to see this, the birds, too.

Some were but nothing like today. Back then it was mostly birds and a few small cat like animals...now its covered about all animals but fish and whales.
