There are no words to convey the feelings of everyone at FluTrackers today.
The unfolding disaster in Japan is hard to comprehend. Apparently hundreds have lost their lives. Probably thousands are injured.
We are very sorry and our thoughts and feelings are with everyone impacted by this event.
We have confirmed that our friend Makoto is without injury. We have recently verified that all of our members in New Zealand are also without injury from that series of earthquakes.
We have created a new Japan forum located here to follow the earthquake events as well as the recent H5N1 outbreaks in wild birds and poultry. We will be moving A/H1N1 and other pertinent data to this forum from around the site in the next few days.
We are publishing Japan disaster information in several languages:
Terremoto in Giappone, allarme tsunami con onde di 10 metri (Il Fatto Quotidiano, 11 marzo 2011)
Francophones des FluTrackers
Foro de Español de FluTrackers
Japanese-日本語
We have the following information prepared by the US CDC for reference:
Tsunami Information
Earthquake Information
Nuclear - Radiation Emergencies
Also:
CDC - Refugiarse en el lugar donde se encuentre durante una emergencia por radiación
Ulteriori informazioni disponibili presso il sito dell'Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia
Canale YouTube dell'INGV
We are adding more sources of information and assistance. Please check the relevant forum listed above to view the latest updates and news.
Again, words can not show the depth of our misery for the people of Japan. We are very, very sorry.
We are with you.
