Interesting that based upon a small sample (week 40 deaths from 27 states) death rates were highest among the 50 - 64 age group. Maybe this is the group where both underlying risk and lack of prior immunity are highest...
I welcome more analyses such as these encompassing a longer time period.

Death rates increase beginning age 45 from: diseases of heart, malignant neoplasms, cerebrovascular diseases, influenza and pneumonia, chronic lower respiratory, chronic liver disease, and diabetes mellitus. (all of the preexisting conditions listed with H1N1)
