Another case has been found in Denmark of the Brazilian variant of coronavirus P1.
It writes Health Minister Magnus Heunicke (S) on Twitter.
A total of two cases of this virus variant have now been identified in Denmark.
The Minister of Health states that the travel history of the infected person is known and that it is part of the chain of infection of the first person who became infected with the Brazilian variant.

It is among the most feared among the dangerous variants that have mutated from the original covid-19 virus. The Brazilian variant - also called P.1 - is both more contagious and has such strong evasion mechanisms against antibodies that an entire city in Brazil, which had otherwise gained flock immunity, became infected again. And now DTU has found it in a sample from one of the capital's hospitals.

The Brazilian variant is serious. At the beginning of the year, the eyes of all researchers
were on Manausin northern Brazil. Here the first waves of infection had infected such large sections of the population that there should be herd immunity. Such a large number of people had been infected and thus developed antibodies to the virus that it should not be possible for the virus to find new hosts. But the virus found its way through mutations, the population apparently became infected again, and the new variant, which alarmed the whole world, was named P.1.
