The situation right now

There is complete calm the situation in Denmark. Although a Dane, is presumed dead of swine flu, (edit: today confirmed) then Denmark is still only very mildly affected.

Reported currently on average only 4 new cases per. days, hence 2nd September.

There are no reports of new infections in Denmark as a country of infection in 8 days. Ie, that most continue to receive it abroad - and the infection spread internally in Denmark is low.

At week 35, only 14 new confirmed cases. It is the lowest number in 7 weeks.

Therefore: If you are sick, so is the risk of the influenza A H1N1 is very low, unless you have been abroad and know that you've been in contact with the infected.

The overall influenza barometer below the level of an epidemic, so there is no flu epidemic in Denmark - neither ordinary seasonal flu or swine influenza.

I just want to add that here in Denmark you can NOT get tested for H1N1 unless you have :

Underlying conditions
Or have a close relative with underlying conditions
Breathing problems (serious syptoms)
Fever

So, like in many other counties, there MANY more who has/have had H1N1, that what figure in the statistic.

I just want to add that here in Denmark you can NOT get tested for H1N1 unless you have :

Underlying conditions
Or have a close relative with underlying conditions
Breathing problems (serious syptoms)
Fever

Yes. And even more, because somewhere worldwide, the close relative with underlying conditions doesn't matter, and if the other items from the list are not jointly present at the same time, no test.

The testing is done sometimes only when it is pretty clear the exposition, or the clinical symptoms.

Strange that many between the same group didn't have positive tests many times wide.
Fast test are first used instead of the proper one, enaugh deep swabs collection problems, incubation window period, or all of them ... (?)

The media minimization on the fields continue even in presence of severe cases.

I experienced this myself when both my daughter and I (proably) had the
H1N1 a cupple of weeks agoe.
My daughers father has a serious heart condition and we asked to be tested because of that, we got a "NO, you can?t be tested" because my daughter and I didn?t have a fever 38 C or more. It didn?t matter that we had more or less all the other H1N1 symptoms and a very close relative with a serious heart condition.
I tried to explain to the doctor that far from all H1N1 infected has fever (even symptoms) and the doctors reply was (I belive most doctors replies) I ?Haven?t heard about that, and I just follow the danish health authorities/ WHO?s guidelines!
SO, WHO, if you are reading this please change your guidelines!
