Capital Hit by E.Coli Alert

Official advice stating that many Copenhageners should boil their drinking water will remain in place until at least Saturday.

The regional energy authority, Copenhagen Energy, takes daily water samples throughout the city. One analysis from the N?rrebro district revealed unacceptably high levels of the E.coli bacteria, it was revealed earlier today.

Residents in many parts of the city are now being instructed to boil water before using it for drinking, cooking or dishwashing. Most of the city centre is impacted as well as N?rrebro, Br?nsh?j, Husum, Tingbjerg, Vanl?se, Frederiksberg and Christianshavn. Hundreds of thousands of residents are affected.

The news has not only affected private households, but also many businesses ? not least caf?s, restaurants and bars.
