Highly pathogenic bird flu is spreading among wild birds in Denmark

Poultry must therefore be kept indoors, and it is important to observe precautions for hygiene and contact with poultry in the herds.

Four geese and a gull from the H?jer area were infected with highly pathogenic bird flu, and on Lolland a peregrine falcon with highly pathogenic bird flu was found last week.

Around the country, citizens have found several dead wild birds, which the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration is currently investigating to map the spread of the infection in the country.

High mortality among wild birds in Southern Jutland

Hundreds of wild birds have lost their lives in Southern Jutland. The Danish Veterinary and Food Administration suspects that they have died of the serious bird flu H5N8, and warns of a high risk of infection to poultry herds and small flocks of chickens.

Disease on a chicken farm near Randers

On Monday, the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration stated that for the first time during the current outbreak, the disease has been found among domestic birds.

It happened on a chicken farm in Tustrup near Randers, where 25,000 hens are now being killed.

Due to the outbreak on the Jutland chicken farm, exports of eggs and poultry products to certain markets outside the EU will be closed for the next three months.

9000 poultry are killed after finding bird flu near Viborg

Bird flu in a new poultry herd probably means that limited exports of Danish eggs will continue.

Bird flu has been found in a feathered game herd at L?vel north of Viborg.
Therefore, the farm's herd of about 9000 poultry must be killed.
This is stated by the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration in a press release.

In the autumn, there were two outbreaks of bird flu among agriculture in Denmark.
