Dengue cases up by 60 per cent in City

In the first eight months of this year more than 7,290 people had been hospitalised for dengue fever in HCM City.

This is an increase of 60 per cent compared with the same period last year, according to the HCM City Preventive Medicines Centre.

In the past seven days, the number of dengue patients increased sharply with more than 250 cases.

The southern province of Tien Giang is particularly hard-hit by the disease with 3,500 people afflicted so far this month, of whom three died.
