Bhopal, Sep 5 (PTI) A 22-year-old woman succumbed to H1N1 influenza in Madhya Pradesh, taking the death toll due to swine flu in the state to 33 since August, health department officials said today.
Nupur Jain, hailing from Vidisha district, breathed her last at a hospital here yesterday. She was tested positive for swine flu on September 2, the officials said.
With this, 12 deaths in Bhopal, 13 in Indore, seven in Jabalpur and one death in Gwalior have taken place due to the disease in Madhya Pradesh since last month.
The condition of 23 people, out of 87 undergoing treatment in different hospitals in the state is stated to be critical, they said.
Eleven persons were tested positive for swine flu and 16 people with symptoms of HINI virus were yesterday admitted in different hospitals across the state.

The failure of government to control swine flu, also known as H1N1 virus, in the state is likely to trigger the epidemic in neighbouring states, as shortage of vaccines, preventive methods, absconding medicos and improper publicity have claimed as many as 45 lives so far.

Most of the hospitals have no isolated wards and infected patients are being admitted in the general ward. A 20-days old child died of swine flu yesterday.

Official data is available for eight locations ? Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Gwalior, Ujjain, Damoh, Morena and Harda ? where 42 patients died of swine flu so far. The government is coming up with updated lists, with names and addresses of patients who are diagnosed positive. As many as 168 patients are detected positive by various hospitals, including private hospitals, and the number is rising each day.

Bhopal, Sep 14 (PTI) With the death of five more persons, the H1N1 toll in Madhya Pradesh has risen to 52, health authorities said today.Four people died of the viral infection in Bhopal and one in Jabalpur in the last four days, they said.Sangeeta Patel (22), Anwar Jahan (70), Shankar Singh (45) and Sheela Vyas (44) from Bhopal and Sumitra Vishwakarma (30) from Jabalpur succumbed to the viral infection, they said.Twenty four persons have died of H1N1 in Bhopal alone, followed by 17 in Indore, nine in Jabalpur and one each in Gwalior and Harda district, they said.Thirty patients with symptoms of Swine Flu were admitted to different hospitals yesterday.

Phoolwati (60) died of swine flu at Akshay Hospital here yesterday and another five patients were found H1N1 positive and total number of patients rose to 252 so far.
Meanwhile, 16 people with the complaint of swine flu were admitted to different hospitals yesterdat in the state, the sources said.
The state capital here recorded the death of 28 people due to swine flu, followed by 20 in Indore, nine in Jabalpur, three in Gwalior and one in Harda.
