Paraguay confirms 43 killed by swine flu

ASUNCION (AP) - Swine flu killed 43 people this year, according to the Ministry of Health of Paraguay. The director of the state Office of Health Surveillance, Ivan Allende, said Sunday that the latest death occurred Aug. 15 but "the outcome of laboratory studies are now known, confirmed the AH1N1 influenza virus.
The victim was a 55-year-old also suffered from chronic heart disease.
Tests were conducted at a laboratory in Atlanta, USA.
Meanwhile, deaths from respiratory complications flu reached 273 in 2009.
