La Conseller?a de Salud y Consumo ha comunicado la muerte de un ni?o de 3 a?os, con una enfermedad de base previa, por la nueva gripe A. La defunci?n se ha producido en el Hospital Universitario Son Dureta y ?sta es la quinta muerte que la gripe A causa en Baleares.
La Conseller?a de Salud y Consumo mantiene activados los protocolos de vigilancia y los planes de contingencia y de atenci?n sanitaria precisa a las personas que lo necesiten. Sin embargo, cabe recordar que el 98% de los casos de la nueva gripe son leves y no requieren ning?n tratamiento complejo o espec?fico, de tal manera que se curan con reposo y tratamiento sintom?tico en los domicilios de los afectados.
La Conseller?a de Salud y Consumo insiste en que es conveniente que las personas incluidas entre la poblaci?n de riesgo se vacunen contra la nueva gripe A.

Death by influenza A child of three years

The Department of Health and Consumer Affairs has reported the death of a child from 3 years with an underlying disease prior to the new influenza A. The death has occurred at the Hospital Universitario Son Dureta and this is the fifth death due influenza A in Balearic Islands.
The Department of Health and Consumption remains activated surveillance protocols and contingency plans and health care needs for people in need. However, it should be noted that 98% of new cases of flu are mild and require no specific treatment or complex, so they will heal with rest and symptomatic treatment in the homes of those affected.
The Department of Health and Consumption insists that people included among the risk population should be vaccinated against the new influenza A.
