Damietta Governorate or Domyat (Arabic: دمياط) is one of the governorates of Egypt. It is in the north of the country. Its capital is the city of Damietta. The governorate of Damietta is famous for its guava farms, specially in the villages of Senaneyya and Kafr El-Battikh
The governorate's area is 1.029 km? or about 5% of the Delta's area,and about 1% of the Egypt area. The occupied area is 589.2 km?, the village has 546.4 km? from it or about 92.7%. It is famous of producing wheat, maize, cotton, rice, potatoes, lemon, grapes and tomatoes.

The names of the central administrations are Damietta Central (Markaz Dumyat), Faraskur Central (Markaz Faraskur), Zarqa Central (Markas Al-Zarqa), Kafr Saad Central (Markaz Kafr Saad).

احتجز مستشفى حميات دمياط 4 حالات للاشتباه فى إصابتهم بأنفلونزا الطيور، وذلك بعد ارتفاع درجة حرارتهم، حيث تم عزلهم بغرفة خاصة، وأخذ عينات منهم وعرضها على المعمل المركزى للتأكد من حالاتهم الصحية، وهم سمر جمال عبد الحليم (20 سنة) كفر البطيخ، ومنال موسى (30 سنة) من قرية الخياطة، وجمال فتحى دياب (45 سنة) كفر سعد، وسحر صبرى (28 سنة) كفر البطيخ.
ووصل عدد حالات الاشتباه فى دمياط، إلى 648 حالة، وتم التأكد من إصابة ثلاثة منهم، وتوفيت سيدة منهم منذ عام تقريباً. 4

Hospital admitted DAMIETTA detained 4 suspected cases of bird flu, following the rise in temperature, with a special isolation room, and samples were taken and presented to the Central Laboratory to ensure their health, and Samar Gamal Abdel Halim (20 years) Kafr watermelon, and Manal Musa (30 years) from the village of sewing, Jamal Fathi Diab (45 years) Kafr Saad, the Sabri Sahar (28 years) Kafr melon.
The number of suspected cases in Damietta, to 648 cases, were confirmed, three of them, including a woman and died almost a year ago.
looking at the moh information for 6-30-09 no deaths have been reported in this governorate ever. and only three cases have been confirmed there since 2006. based on the same report the total suspect cases is currently 647.
