At the close of this Wednesday, Cuba reported 46 new cases of COVID-19, for a cumulative of 3,174 since last March; 21 medical discharges and one deceased, Francisco Dur?n Garc?a, national director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap), reported at a press conference this Thursday.

1,200 patients are admitted to hospitals for clinical epidemiological surveillance, 30 under surveillance, 612 suspects and 558 confirmed.

The specialist specified that 4591 samples were studied for COVID-19 this Wednesday by molecular biology laboratories across the country, resulting in 46 positive samples. Thus, the country accumulates 314,449 samples made and 3,174 positive (1.01%).

Of the 46 diagnosed cases:

One is a foreigner (Colombia) and 45 are Cuban.
41 were contacts of confirmed cases, two (4.4%) with an unspecified source of infection and three with a source of infection abroad.
22 are male, and 24 are female.
54.3% (25) were asymptomatic.
The residence by province and municipality of the 46 confirmed cases is:

Pinar del R?o (Consolaci?n del Sur, La Palma and Minas de Matahambres with 1 each),

Artemisa (3 from the municipality of Mariel, San Antonio de los Ba?os and Bah?a Honda with 1 each)

Havana (35)

7 of the Habana del Este municipality.
Lisa and Centro Habana with 5 each
Cotorro and Boyeros with 4 each.
Plaza de la Revoluci?n, Playa, Guanabacoa and Cerro with 2 each.
San Miguel del Padr?n and Regla with 1 each.

Two deaths from new coronavirus in Cuba in a day with 65 new contagions

Havana reported the highest number of cases, followed by Artemisa, Pinar del R?o and Matanzas. The health status of 20 patients was reported as critical or serious.

The figures for COVID-19 on the island continue to fluctuate, according to the information offered today by the authorities of the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), which reported two deaths and 65 new contagions in the last 24 hours.

The new deaths from the pandemic, which bring the number to 91, were two women from Centro Habana: one 79 years old, with 11 days of hospitalization, and another 71 years old, with five previous days in intensive care. Both died of cardiorespiratory arrest.

As for the new contagions, 63 are Cuban and two are foreigners residing on the island; 59 were contacts of confirmed cases, in 5 individuals the source of infection was not specified and one case originated abroad.

A total of 1,235 people were still hospitalized at midnight yesterday: 657 were suspects while active cases totaled 523.
