Swine Flu Hot Line: 1-800-830-9426

HARTFORD, Conn.?The state is setting up a swine flu hot line as the first doses of vaccine to fight the virus arrive in Connecticut.

Gov. M. Jodi Rell says the state Department of Health has signed up hundreds of doctors, nurses and other providers to administer the first shipment of about 20,000 internasal doses.

State health officials are expecting to get more than 500,000 doses of flu vaccine by the middle of the month, and several thousand more in weekly shipments after that.

Rell says the vaccine will first be made available to pregnant women, caregivers of infants, health care providers, children younger than 4 and any child with a chronic medical condition.

Rell says staff from the Department of Public Health will begin staffing the hot line on Monday to answer any questions about the virus.
