A 10-year-old New Canaan boy who died over the weekend was diagnosed with the flu and doctors are investigating whether the virus led to his death.
Bryan Luizzi, New Canaan?s superintendent of schools, said Nico Mallozzi, a fourth grader who died Sunday, ?had been diagnosed with Influenza B, a strain of the flu that is currently spreading in the Northeast.?
?What we do not know, however, is if the flu caused Nico?s passing,? he wrote in a letter to the school community. ?The doctors are continuing their investigation and we are confident that they will notify us immediately when new information is obtained.?...
