Country by country spread of new flu strain

April 30 (Reuters) - Dutch health authorities have confirmed
a first case of swine flu in the Netherlands in a three year-old
who had recently returned from Mexico, the health ministry said
on Thursday.

Mexican President Felipe Calderon told his people to stay
home from Friday for a five-day partial shutdown of the economy,
after the World Health Organisation raised the official alert
level to phase 5, the last step before a pandemic.

Switzerland also announced its first confirmed cases on
Thursday, bringing to 12 the number of countries that have
reported cases of the new H1N1 strain.
