Cottage Grove Farmhouse Bakery Issues Allergy Alert - Egg

April 1, 2011 - Cottage Grove Farmhouse Bakery, Cottage Grove, Oregon is recalling Wheat Sourdough Bread, Oatmeal Bread, and Garlic Basil Parmesan Bread because they may contain undeclared Pasteurized Egg white. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to eggs run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

The following products were distributed at retail grocery and natural foods stores in Lane County, Corvallis, Salem and Central Coast in Oregon:

Wheat Sourdough Bread, 2 lb. round loaf, UPC 83211800125, with the pull dates of 03-31; 04-02; and 04-05.
Oatmeal Bread, 24 oz. loaf, UPC 832118001057, with the pull date of 03-31.
Garlic Basil Parmesan, 16 oz. baguette, UPC 832118001156, with the pull date of 03-31.

No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with the issue.

The recall was initiated after it was discovered that product containing pasteurized egg white was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of pasteurized egg white on the label...
