First patient with confirmed influenza in swine Costa Rica
Health authorities in Costa Rica confirmed that a woman of 21 years has become the first case of swine flu in the country and called upon the people to extreme measures of hygiene.
The Minister of Health, Mar?a Luisa ?vila, explained to the local press today that the woman was admitted to Costa Rica three days ago from Mexico, where is the main focus of the disease.
The minister said that the evidence that he practiced the patient, of Costa Rican nationality, at the Institute for Research and Education on Nutrition and Health (Incense) yielded positive results, but did not indicate what medical center is placed.
The Costa Rican authorities said, a second sample sent to the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta, United States, to definitively confirm the diagnosis.
Avila appealed to people to extreme measures of health and go to the nearest medical center before any symptoms of flu such as fever and muscle aches.
