Communicable diseases meeting commences in Bali, Indonesia

JAKARTA, June 11 (Xinhua) --
A two-day meeting on cooperation to prevent the spread of communicable diseases through air travel opened Wednesday in Indonesia's resort island of Bali.
The meeting was attended by 60 delegations from some Asia Pacific countries, Antara news agency quoted a member of the organizing committee as saying.
The meeting, whose topic was officially "Cooperative Arrangements on the Spread of Communicable Diseases Through Air Travel", will discuss issues related to avian influenza.
The participating countries included Singapore, the Philippines, Japan, China, Malaysia, Bangladesh, and Indonesia as the host.
