Continuing Attempts to Thwart FluTrackers

Re: Continuing Attempts to Thwart FluTrackers

May I suggest ixquick.com as a search engine instead going through one's browser? Or Google, for that matter. Ixquick does not record ip's or track one's search terms. They also have problems with DDoS attacks sometimes, but I've very seldom been unable to get to them.

Re: Continuing Attempts to Thwart FluTrackers

well, Internet Explorer is a browser, not a search engine.
I have to somehow login so to access my subscribed threads

Re: Continuing Attempts to Thwart FluTrackers

to what other webpages did that happen ?
FT can't be the only one

Re: Continuing Attempts to Thwart FluTrackers

I was having no problem with Firefox but did try IE (which I hate) and get
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: str_split() in /home/flutr2/public_html/forum/index.php(1) : regexp code(1) : eval()'d code(1) : regexp code on line 1
I could not find a problem with IE and other sites, including another vBulletin forum.

It appears to be an incompatibility between IE and the FT site. As this is a new problem I would guess either it is due either to an IE update or some changes made to this site at the time of the problems emergence.

Re: Continuing Attempts to Thwart FluTrackers

To help in pinning down this problem can anyone who is reading this and using IE please post which version of OS and IE they are using.
I tested with Win 8.1 (6.3.9600) and IE 11 (11.0.9600.17351 update 11.0.13) - which has the problem.

Re: Continuing Attempts to Thwart FluTrackers

Do you have the ability to scan flutrackers for malware?

Re: Continuing Attempts to Thwart FluTrackers

If there is no malware then it is a programming error.

Re: Continuing Attempts to Thwart FluTrackers

I suspect that there has been an update to the main browsers that has some incompatability with the forum programming, so the site programming may need an update to fix newly emerging bugs.

Best bet is to speak to the forum platform provider.

Re: Continuing Attempts to Thwart FluTrackers

It was an attack that targeted our forum through the vbulletin software in a security update:

"...On checking your vbulletin forum we can see that following malicious code injected to almost all files on this forum and that caused this trouble. Please see the code pasted below:..."

My understanding is this was like clicking on an attachment to your email. It opened the opportunity to inject some malicious code into the vbulletin software.

The server was not hacked but some malicious code was added to the vbulletin software program through a security update.

Apparently we are not appreciated by someone.

We are not shutting up.

Sometimes you really have to wonder why god bothered to give some people a brain... :D
Keep on going Sharon! :applause::applause:

Re: Continuing Attempts to Thwart FluTrackers

The ECDC, European Food Safety Authority, and European Union have installed FT as part of their news stream for a site called Medisys.

Scroll down to the bottom to see a post from FluTrackers earlier today.

http://medusa.jrc.it/medisys/alertedition/en/Avianflu.html

On their Avian Flu page (lower right) we are listed as their most active source:

"Most active sources for this category

irishsun
leidschdagblad

So congrats to the people who attack us. You are actually attacking a lot more than a few posters on this site.

Re: Continuing Attempts to Thwart FluTrackers

so, can you replace the infected v-bulletin software by an earlier, intact
version without changing the forum files ?

they really should have a feature to save everything into
one big compressed file.

So that e.g. other servers can easily run the same forum

how do they make the server to execute their malicious routines

looks like a bug of the vbulletin-software too

is FT the first where this happens ?

Re: Continuing Attempts to Thwart FluTrackers

It is a "bug" in the vbulletin software that allowed this to happen. Our technical team is reviewing the situation. I am not going to publicly post about that.

We have multiple backups and platforms so our information is protected in multiple ways. FluTrackers will remain online and committed to our mission statement and to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This is all I am going to say about our response.

At this time we can not be viewed with the Internet Explorer browser. Please use another browser. Thanks!
