The United States' increasing reliance on the Internet makes securing our networks from online threats more crucial than ever, according to National Security Agency director and U.S. Cyber Command commander Keith Alexander.


Speaking at the Gov 2.0 Summit on Tuesday in Washington, Alexander warned against the growing threat from hackers and enemy states seeking to penetrate American networks, which are more vital to the nation's security and economy than ever before.

Our server company told me today that we experienced a denial of service (DOS) attack from the following 2 ip addresses:

98.126.129.82

61.147.120.3

According to our server company these 2 ips sent simultaneously many requests to the server which resulted in our load and memory capacity reaching the 80+ percentile range. This slowed the server to almost a stop.

We will publish the ips of hack or DOS attacks.

As I understand things, DNS attacks frequently use 'hijacked' computers. Is there a way to contact these IPs and inform them that their computer was used as part of a DNS attack, and that this may indicate that they have a computer virus? There are plenty of free online services that could perhaps be used to clean computers. Could this be a way to fight back?

Tonight FluTrackers was offline for approximately 4 hours.

The server company says it was due to a network problem.

We successfully used FluTrackers.org as a backup in conjunction with our twitter and facebook accounts.

Starting at 23:29:29 EST last night a "brute force" attack was made on the FluTrackers server. It continued for approximately 30 minutes.

A part of the email from our server company:


"..I was able to find a brute-force attempt on your [redacted] service at the same time with this incident, which might explain the issue as brute-force attempts are known to cause high resource issues and act as denial of service attacks, stopping or crashing your services."


We are working closely with the server company on all DOS and hack attempts. We did not experience any down time as a result of this incident.


These attempts will not stop us. We have 2 backup servers installed with vbulletin software, a blog format, twitter account, facebook account, youtube account, blog radio account.

We will disseminate information even if this site is temporarily compromised.
