Press release makes it clear that several gene segemnts were sequenced, and the virus is Argentina is essentually the same as the virus isolated worldwide, with no "obvious" differences.

Sorry. Wrong scientist. That was said by Dr. Rios, from the Malbran lab itself, who is probably a better source that even Mr. Mansur. (Or should hat be Dr. Mansur?)

And Dr. Niman's (now I know HE is a Dr.) article above agrees.

So there is no differences in the viruses?

They could say, what is the closest virus from Genbank.
I'd preferred more recent, typical strains rather than early June.
Can't they just send it to CDC instead ?
One or two genomes are fine.
But then more samples with just one segment are presumably easier
to obtain and show the diversity and distribution of substrains.
I don't think the info will be used to develope vaccine, unless
there are significant amino-acid differences - the vaccine-strains had been chosen earlier.

they might have found some changes, but the significance could be unclear.
Or there could be differences in severety of the already circulating
substrains. Or some substrains are more severe for some ethnic/age/profession groups
while others are more severe for others.

seems that the peak for hospital admissions was 15 days ago ?!
give some delay for deaths, then the peak for new deaths should be ~now
