Colombia: Manizales investigated the death of a man apparently by H1N1

The Ministry of health of the municipality of Manizales investigates death in the last hours of a man of 60 years with symptoms of the H1N1 virus and whose state of health has deteriorated since the previous Monday.

The Secretary of Salud Carlos Humberto Orozco explained that the samples were sent to the Ministry of health, entity that, in eight days, will issue concept and positive will, if the respective alert.

The official accepted the increase in the region of the respiratory diseases by increasing rains in the last three months and low temperatures for the winter season that is ending.

The director of the Territorial Health in Caldas Hector Lopez said that the increase in respiratory diseases has congested emergency admissions in addition to Manizales in La Dorada, dirty, Riosucio, Chinchiná, Victoria, Viterbo and Norcasia, among others.

Manizales confirmed case of H1N1

Medical Authorities in Caldas confirmed a case of the virus H1N1. This is a 42-year-old woman who was able to recover.

We also are investigating the death of a 60-year-old man who presented the symptoms of the disease.



The Secretary of Health of Manizales, Carlos Humberto Orozco, said that the women exceeded the virus; but in the case of the man who died the samples were sent to the Ministry of Health to check a preliminary diagnosis.



The doctor pointed out that it has issued an alert to the hospital network to counteract the effect of new outbreaks in Manizales, controls which will be extended to the rest of municipalities through the territorial directorate for health.



The official explained that climate change and rains in recent weeks increased the widespread outbreaks and respiratory diseases.
