BOGOTA -(Dow Jones)- Colombian Health Ministry Sunday said tests have confirmed two more new cases of swine flu in the country.
With the new cases, Colombia now has three confirmed cases of patients with the virus and 148 patients suspected of having the flu, the ministry said in a press release.
Colombia has discarded an additional 362 cases who presented flu-like symptoms.
One of the infected is a man who traveled to the state of Florida in the U.S.
Daily newspaper El Tiempo said he is a sportsman, who had contact with Mexicans in Florida. The second case is a relative of the sportsman.
Both of them suffer normal flu symptoms and are being treated at home. The health authorities asked them to refrain from having contact with other people.
The World Health Organization Monday said there were 4,694 cases of the A/H1N1 swine-flu virus, in 30 countries as of 0600 GMT.
Earlier Monday, Mexico reported 2,033 laboratory-confirmed human cases of infection, including 56 deaths. The U.S. has reported 2,532 laboratory-confirmed human cases and three deaths, the WHO said.
Canada has reported 284 laboratory-confirmed human cases, including one death. Costa Rica has reported eight laboratory-confirmed human cases, including one death.
Last week, the Colombian government slashed tariffs on antiviral drug Tamiful, which is manufactured by Swiss-based Roche Holding AG (RHHBY), and its generic versions.
