Cleveland Clinic to give free swine flu shots with no appointment, regardless of insurance

CLEVELAND (AP) ? The Cleveland Clinic will offer free shots against swine flu to anyone who wants one as soon as the vaccine is available.
The Clinic, which operates one of Ohio's largest health care systems, said Tuesday that no appointment or insurance will be necessary to receive a vaccination at its 15 family health centers, nine community hospitals and main campus.
The free vaccinations will go first to government-designated high risk groups, including health care and emergency personnel, pregnant women, and caregivers for children younger than 6 months.
It's widely expected that doses of swine flu vaccine will reach Ohio within weeks. Public health departments must provide shots for free but private health care providers are allowed to charge the uninsured a fee.
