Citizens From Three Ebola Nations Allowed to Extend U.S. Visits
By Mark Drajem November 20, 2014

Visitors to the U.S. from three West Africa nations gripped by Ebola can remain in the country for 18 months and work, the Department of Homeland Security said.

President Barack Obama?s administration granted temporary protected status today for citizens of Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone who are now in the U.S., allowing them to stay past the expiration of visas. The order applies to those in the U.S. as of today and requires the citizens to apply for the designation.

About 8,000 people in the U.S. could be eligible for the extension, according to the department. ..
