CHANGSHA, March 10 (Xinhua) -- Health authorities in Hunan said Thursday that A/H1N1 caused six deaths in the central Chinese province in February, four more than that of January.
The province reported 124 flu A/H1N1 cases, up 129.63 percent from last month, according to a spokesman with the Health Department of Hunan Province.
The deaths happened in the cities of Zhuzhou, Hengyang, Yueyang, Huaihua and capital Changsha.
In January, Hunan reported two A/H1N1 deaths.
The A/H1N1 flu virus has started to take its toll again and has recently become the predominant strain of flu in China. Twenty deaths caused by A/H1N1 flu virus were reported as of February 8 since the beginning of 2011, according to the information released by the Health Ministry of China in late February.
