Build a solid safety line to protect the harmony between doctors and patients, Yantai Beihai Hospital organizes emergency drills

In order to further strengthen the hospital's security and protection work, improve the emergency response capabilities of security and medical staff in response to sudden violent incidents, and protect the legitimate rights and interests of both doctors and patients, Yantai Beihai Hospital organized an "emergency drill" on April 7. This drill simulated real scenarios to test the feasibility of the hospital's emergency plan and the collaborative response capabilities of various departments, laying a solid foundation for building a safe hospital.
The simulation scenario of the drill was that an emotionally out-of-control patient broke into the office and insulted and pushed the medical staff, and then threatened the medical staff with a weapon. After the incident, the hospital quickly launched the "Emergency Plan for Violent Injury to Medical Staff", and multiple departments responded in a coordinated manner, following the "prevention-warning-handling-aftermath" process.
Exercise goal: to promote prevention through exercise
Through this drill, the hospital focused on strengthening the following capabilities: risk identification, training medical staff to identify signs of conflict early and avoid escalation of conflicts; self-protection, consolidating self-defense skills, avoidance routes and the use of alarm equipment; improving systems, optimizing emergency plans, and ensuring seamless processes.
Cheng Jie, the full-time deputy secretary of the hospital, commented: "The safety of medical staff is the prerequisite for medical quality. The entire hospital must firmly establish a 'zero tolerance' attitude and resolutely deal with violent acts against doctors in accordance with the law. We will continue to improve the security system so that medical staff can practice with peace of mind and patients can receive medical treatment with confidence."
